Chef
Mikel Asiain, chef of the Alarz Restaurant, brings with him a culinary journey marked by excellence and a passion for flavor. This globetrotter with Basque roots has perfected his art in exotic destinations such as Vietnam, Thailand, and Bali, and has worked in prestigious kitchens such as M.B. (two Michelin stars) and the award-winning Bevir, which earned its Michelin star in Gran Canaria. Their culinary vision, based on authenticity and attention to detail, promises to take the Alarz experience to new heights. With this exceptional duo at the helm, the Arrecife Gran Hotel & Spa is not only positioned as a space of luxury and comfort, but also as a culinary epicenter that celebrates the richness of local and global flavors. Maître & Sommelier
Airam de Acosta has worked at international establishments such as The London Edition Hotel, the Boquería Restaurant in London, and the Hotel Boutique La Isla y El Mar in Lanzarote.
His training includes, among other specialties, WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) Level 3 from the WSET London School or Barista Level 2 from the Lambeth College in London.

Executive Chef
Joaquín Espejo, Executive Chef of the Arrecife Gran Hotel, Breakthrough Chef 2013, Best Chef of the Canary Islands 2014, and Best Creative Chef of the Canary Islands 2015, brings his extensive experience and creativity to all of the hotel’s restaurants: Blue 17, La Buena Vida, the Buffet, and the outstanding Alarz Restaurant. With a career that includes managing renowned establishments such as Moorea, awarded two Repsol Suns in 2013 and 2017, and participating in the Top Chef program, Espejo combines tradition and innovation to create unique dishes that delight every diner.
