José Francisco Medina. Graduated in Gastronomy and Culinary Arts at the Basque Culinary Center, our chef is featured among the 100 Young Talents of Spanish Gastronomy of this same prestigious center.
He has worked in different places such as Iñigo Lavado in 2012 (Irún, Basque Country), Tickets * in 2013 (Barcelona, Catalonia), Aqua *** in 2014 (Wolfsburg, Germany) and Miramar ** in 2015 (Llançà, Catalonia).
At the end of 2015, he went back to El Barri de Albert Adriá as head cook of the Hoja Santa* Restaurant, and then became its sous-chef and finally his head chef in 2017, keeping the Michelin star the restaurant got in 2015 and holding this position until 2020.
He is now back to his native Lanzarote to provide the Alarz Bahía Club Restaurant with the freshness, innovation and quality needed to turn our restaurant into one of your reference places to enjoy a good cuisine with some amazing sea views.

Gustavo Valencia Sandoval. This great professional has 13 years of experience in the hospitality industry.
He has worked in several international establishments such as The London Edition Hotel, the Boquería Restaurant in London, or the Hotel Boutique La Isla y El Mar in Lanzarote.
His training includes, among other specialties, WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) Level 3 from the WSET London School or Barista Level 2 from the Lambeth College in London.
