Alarz is a luxury restaurant on the bay of Arrecife, Lanzarote’s capital. It sits on the ground floor of the Arrecife Gran Hotel & Spa, with its own street entrance, right by Reducto Beach. Recommended by the Repsol Guide 2026, Spain’s leading gastronomic guide, Alarz serves contemporary, produce-led cooking with Atlantic and Mediterranean roots.

At Alarz, luxury isn’t a strict dress code or an inflated bill. It’s four things you can check before you book.
Alarz occupies the ground floor of the capital’s landmark hotel, opening onto the bay and Reducto, Arrecife’s city beach. The dining room is bright, the sea is your backdrop, and the open kitchen lets you watch the team at work from your table.
We start with the best of the Canary Islands and the Atlantic: catch of the day, prawns from La Santa, Canarian black pork and potatoes from Los Valles. We cook it with modern technique and well-integrated Basque and Asian influences. Seafood, raw dishes, rice and the charcoal grill are the heart of our signature cuisine.
The Repsol Guide, Spain’s benchmark for restaurants (its “Soles” are the Spanish equivalent of Michelin stars), lists Alarz among its recommended restaurants for 2026. If you’re looking for haute cuisine in Lanzarote, this is the place to start.
Front of house, kitchen and sommelier work as one team. They’ll walk you through the menu, the day’s off-menu specials and the wine pairing, with no rush and no stiff formality.

Both menus include wine pairing, bread and water, and are served at lunch and dinner.
A balanced journey. It opens with rabbit croquette in salmorejo with Joselito pork jowl and a porrusalda mochi with Cantabrian anchovy. Next come Canarian black pork ssam with satay and striped prawn, tomato with honey-mustard and avocado, and confit artichoke on a Robuchon-style purée of Los Valles potatoes. Green curry with magote follows, and a crème brûlée closes the menu. See the Alarz Menu
Our most complete experience. It begins with house focaccia with tomato tartare and a moray eel stew cone with piparra pepper. The highlights are lentils with mallard and foie gras, and the catch of the day with Canarian azafranillo and kimchi. It ends with caramelia in textures and a signature pairing. This is the menu we recommend for a celebration. See the Gran Alarz Menu

At Alarz, wine pairing is part of the meal, not an extra. Our sommelier Carlos builds each pairing around Spanish wines [confirm: and Lanzarote wineries on the list?]. If wine is the main reason for your visit, take a look at our wine & food experience and our wine bar in Arrecife.
The cocktail list blends reimagined classics with tropical flavours. It’s the best way to start your evening overlooking the bay, or to stretch it out after dessert.

- A dinner for two. A sea-view table, a tasting menu and wine pairing make up our most-booked plan as a romantic restaurant.
- A celebration that matters. Anniversaries, birthdays and proposals, in an exclusive restaurant that takes care of every detail.
- A food lover’s trip. If you’re travelling to Lanzarote in search of a gourmet restaurant, Alarz is 7 minutes from Arrecife airport and 15 minutes from Puerto del Carmen and Costa Teguise.
- A gift. Both tasting menus can be bought online as a gift.
The kitchen is led by Paco Medina [confirm he is still head chef], a chef born in Tinajo, Lanzarote. He trained at Tickets (Albert Adrià, Barcelona), Miramar (Paco Pérez, 3 Repsol Soles), Aqua (Wolfsburg, Germany) and Íñigo Lavado, and makes local produce the backbone of his cooking. Meet the team.

Tables per service are limited. At weekends and in high season, the sea-view tables go first. If you already have a date, secure it today.
